David Bikhado OFUNGI, Managing Principle

BEng Chemical Engineering with Management and French (HONS) and Diploma in Industrial Studies (DIS) (Bradford, UK), MSc. Management (Nottingham Business School, UK).

Prior to founding Dero Capital, David worked for African Alliance Uganda where he initially joined as a Research Analyst charged with Equity and Fixed Income research. Shortly after, he was transferred to Corporate Advisory where he originated the 29% disposal of Uganda Clays Limited, at the time, the USE’s largest-ever secondary market transaction. Mr. Ofungi then assumed role of transaction team leader of the UGX 30 billion DFCU bond issue and as leader of the advisory team for the 40 billion Nile Bank IPO and subsequent acquisition by Barclays Bank PLC.

David previously worked with Heritage Oil and Gas, Uganda as Procurement Manager and as a consultant with Planhotel SA, a Swiss luxury hotel and resorts chain.

 

William Kakuru BITARABEHO, Operations Director

William's Project Management credentials were honed with Eastern Builders Limited where he managed huge road, housing and other civil works projects in Uganda and the wider region. While there, he run billions of shillings worth of project in both the private and public sector. Mr. Bitarabeho enrolled for the ESAMI-Maastricht MBA programme then set up his own construction firm, Wilbro Construction.

William's project management skills and eye for business strategy fit well with timely delivery of client service without jeopardizing quality that is a key requirement for Corporate Advisory.

Stephen is an Associate with Katende, Sempebwa & Co. Advocates and his practice covers areas dealing with corporate transactions, privatizations, securities, mergers and acquisitions, banking, finance and convenyancing.

Stephen recently advised Nile Bank Limited on its proposed IPO and listing of its shares on the USE. As a Summer Associate, Stephen also constituted the team that advised the Government of the Republic of Uganda on the listing of the Government of Uganda’s shares in DFCU Ltd, the largest initial public offering in Uganda’s history by then.

 

Winnie Keere KINOBE, Administration and Compliance Manager

On top of providing a key administration input, Ms. Kinobe is Dero Capital’s liaison person with the regulatory body.
